I started this for the wild blue challenge. The photos are my own. I've manipped the figure to where I wanted it to be and played around with the colour palette. And here I'm stuck. Total blank what to do with it next. I wanted to end up a collagey thing with lots of different interesting elements. But I can't see it in my mind's eye. I just don't have the necessary imagination to pick the other bits to go on it. Sad, huh? This is what has bogged me down for most of the last 12 months. I think I'd sum myself up as I'm all formula and no flair - ok till it comes to originality. (No, I'm absolutely not fishing here - just being honest with myself, and acknowledging my limitations.)
So I'm offering it up for anyone who feels like turning it from a rather dull manip into a work of art.
Any takers? |

That's an amazing canvas as it is, LQ!
I might give it a go. Be back shortly. _________________

| The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned. I was looking through the half-chewed thread on kB yesterday and loving all the different finishes to our base blends that everyone did. (Those that were still there, anyway. ) |

Here's me. A couple of texture layers, some brushes and text.

We were chating while we did these, but we didn't really talk about them - interesting.

Hey- you both have strong verticals in your pieces! How weird is that!? What the hell were you chatting about?
J, I love the text and dotted lines along the stretch of rocks on the middle- so effective!
Jen, your use of colour is striking and with just a few simple shapes and effective layer effects, you've changed the mood dramatically.
And as for you, LQ- do you know that I have more of your OB/KB wallpapers than anyone else? I know you were'nt fishing but I just needed to
Using colour well is one of your strengths and these are excellent wild blue hues!
Hmm...I've half a mind to give it a fiddle myself.

Thank you three so much for transforming my pic into such fab pieces. J, I did in fact have one version where I got so far as to put the lighter vertical stripe down through Joanna's figure ( yes, this is my daughter taken on holiday in Tenerife. She was actually standing at the water's edge in the original pic, but I thought she looked better pushed out to sea. ) but I blanked at what to do next - wouldn't have thought of adding a pattern in there.
I love all three of them, from the brooding of J's to the elegance of Jen's and the dark whimsy of Lee's, and I shall be poring over them to discover what was done and how. With your permission I would like to print them all off to frame as a kind of tryptich for Joanna's room. I might even be sneaky and keep it back for a Christmas present. But only if you all don't mind.
Thank you for your comments on my work, Lee. I do think that lack of practice is part of my problem. I went through my past wps and realised that unless you keep it up regularly, you quickly forget all these little tricks and techniques that you learn along the way. As for you saving my stuff, I shall leave you with a screenshot of my current desktop.

Wow- it feels like I have my very own stalker!
I'm so unbelievably chuffed you liked those pieces. *mwah!*
A tryptich of the three? What an amazing thing to do! I think it would look stunning and you can use mine with pleasure. |

Wow, Jxx! Those three really did a number on your original piece, didn't they? It was a lovely, lonely piece to start off with and each one you added your own unique stamp to it! Well done guys!
Maybe I should find some old, half-baked piece and hand it over. _________________
